Environmental Monitor
Ryan Debono is an environmental engineer with experience in environmental conservation and monitoring and GIS mapping.
Ryan graduated from the Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology (MCAST) with a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Engineering after obtaining his Advanced Diploma in Environmental Sustainability. As part of his dissertation, Ryan assessed the role of green urban areas in local climate regulation in the Maltese islands.
During the courses he followed at MCAST, Ryan worked as an intern at various environmental bodies, including the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) and Eco-Gozo, where he gained substantial experience in ecological restoration, environmental permitting, as well as using geographical information systems to map out valley systems.
He joined En-Sure in 2019 as a member of the company’s environmental monitoring team. Within En-Sure, Ryan is responsible for providing advice to management teams and site operatives on best practice methods with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of construction projects. As part of his role, Ryan conducts regular site inspections and subsequently compiles operational monitoring and environmental site management reports. He is also involved in noise, vibration, and air quality monitoring.
Ryan is fluent in Maltese and English and has a good understanding of Italian. He loves travelling and getting to experience different cultures and tasting different cuisines.
