July 2014 – En-Sure completes packaging waste audit

En-Sure Ltd recently completed a packaging waste audit at a large manufacturing firm. The company contacted En-Sure to help it meet the requirements of Legal Notice 277 of 2006, the Waste Management (Packaging & Packaging Waste) Regulations.

In accordance with the waste hierarchy, these Regulations aim to prevent the production of packaging waste where possible. If this is not possible, reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery are encouraged, thus reducing the quantities of packaging disposed.

Self-compliant producers of packaging waste must register with MEPA and provide a report by an auditor to account for the waste produced, the method of collection, and the means of disposal.
