Why monitor?
Environmental monitoring is widely adopted by responsible enterprises, both large and small. Many leading firms, recognising the importance of environmental responsibility, have adopted Environmental Management Systems such as ISO 14001, which require on-going environmental monitoring.
Environmental permits, such as those issued by MEPA in respect of, for example, development applications and IPPC, often stipulate that certain environmental conditions are satisfied.
