En-Sure has been entrusted with providing support to two marine aquaculture operators in Malta in reporting their annual emissions to MEPA under the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR) Regulations. The Regulations require annual reporting of emissions and waste transfer data by certain facilities if established thresholds are exceeded.

Following review by MEPA, the data is made public on the European Commission’s website, http://prtr.ec.europa.eu/. The website includes a search facility that allows users to find out about emissions in different industries throughout the EU and how emissions are changing over time.
