En-Sure conducted a packaging waste audit at a local manufacturing facility covering the year 2014. The facility is registered with MEPA as a self-compliant producer of packaging. The Waste Management (Packaging & Packaging Waste) Regulations, Legal Notice 277 of 2006 (as amended) require such facilities to submit an auditor’s report to MEPA to certify that the information reported to MEPA conforms to the obligations of these regulations.

Prior to the audit, a set of audit objectives were established on the basis of MEPA’s Terms of Reference and the Waste Management (Packaging & Packaging Waste) Regulations. The audit included interviews with site representatives, an extensive review of the facility’s packaging records and a site visit. The auditor also made recommendations with the aim of strengthening the facility’s internal data management systems.
