En-Sure was engaged by the contractor to oversee the health and safety of the workers employed on this project, which involved submarine trenching for the installation of 11kV and 33kV electricity cables at Manoel Island / Gzira.

En-Sure prepared an occupational health and safety risk assessment and a safe works method statement at the initial stages of the project. The site’s workers were also trained on the best practices and the control measures which must be put into practice during works, as outlined in the risk assessment report.

Throughout the duration of excavation and construction works, En-Sure monitored the site in order to ensure that the control measures drawn up in the risk assessment report were in place, so as to safeguard the health and safety of workers. Weekly reports were sent to the contractor, summarising the observations made on site during the monitoring and providing guidance on improving site practices.
