Steven Treeby obtains Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety

Steven Treeby, Environmental Monitor and H&S Officer at En-Sure, recently graduated with a Diploma in Social Studies (Occupational Health & Safety) from the University of Malta.

The Diploma ran for two years and included training on Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), risk management, fire fighting, first aid, and so on. The Diploma helped Steven expand his knowledge and develop skills to promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace.

Steven’s dissertation focused on the construction industry, where he assessed whether age affects the attitudes shown by construction site workers towards OHS. Interestingly, he found that elderly workers showed a significantly more careless attitude towards health and safety compared to younger workers.

As a geographer with substantial experience in the environmental monitoring of construction sites, Steven was motivated to develop his expertise in the field of OHS because he has a keen interest in contributing towards improving the local OHS culture. He is now actively involved in setting up En-Sure’s health and safety programme, ensuring that the company complies with all OHS legislation.

Steven will also play a key role in allowing En-Sure to expand the range of services offered to include occupational health and safety.
