European C&D Waste Protocol published

The European Commission recently published a Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Protocol. The Protocol sets out non-binding guidelines on the proper management of C&D waste, and aims to improve confidence in the C&D waste management process, and trust in the quality of recycled materials from this industry. En-Sure offsets its carbon emissions

En-Sure recently offset its calculated carbon emissions for 2016 by making a donation to Pure Leapfrog. Pure Leapfrog is a UK-based charity that funds carbon-reducing projects all round the globe. This initiative was taken as part of En-Sure’s Environmental Management System, which in 2016 achieved ISO 14001 certification. Read more..

ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Course

During the last week of January Mr Titian Schembri, a Lead Environmental Monitor and Project Manager working with En-Sure Ltd, successfully completed a training course to become a ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor.

The aim of this course was to provide attendees with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third-party audits of environment management systems against the ISO 14001:2015 standard, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 (as applicable). Read more..

Malta Carnival Experience gets Green Light

The Planning Authority (PA) recently approved the construction of the Malta Carnival Experience. This project, spearheaded by the Arts Council Malta, envisages the creation of a space in Marsa for the manufacture of carnival floats, costumes and masks, as well as being an attraction centre where visitors can appreciate the history of the carnival, view the floats being built, and interact with the float makers.
